Barak Orbach is Of Counsel and Chief AI Officer at Neeman Keynan and the Robert H. Mundheim Professor of Law & Business at the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law. He is internationally recognized for his expertise in antitrust, corporate governance, and AI governance.

Orbach has extensive experience advising government agencies, public and private companies, boards of directors, investors, and trade associations on antitrust, corporate governance, and complex regulatory matters, especially those arising from technological change. He also serves as an expert in high-stakes cases. Earlier in his career, he practiced at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton in New York and served as Advisor for Law & Economics at the Israel Competition Authority.

As Chief AI Officer, Orbach oversees the firm’s AI workflows, governance arrangements, and training. He has advised courts, law firms, corporate boards, and senior management, including general counsel, on AI deployment and governance. His advice covers AI deployment strategies, workflow design, staff training, and safeguards for oversight and accountability. He also advises on emerging AI regulation and its implications for organizational policies, compliance, and risk management.

Designated by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division, Orbach serves as a Non-Governmental Advisor to the International Competition Network. He is an elected member of the American Law Institute, a fellow of the American College of Governance Counsel, a lifetime member of the American Bar Foundation, and a member of the American Antitrust Institute’s advisory board. He regularly speaks at international conferences, universities, and professional forums. His work has been cited or featured in Bloomberg, the Financial Times, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, and many other media outlets.

Orbach holds a doctorate in law (S.J.D.) and a master’s degree in law (LL.M.) from Harvard Law School, and degrees in law (LL.B.) and economics (B.A.) from Tel Aviv University.
